Arsenal Football Club has strengthened the retail offering at its world-famous Emirates stadium, with the delivery of four large pop up shops from Rapid Retail.
The new, fully branded units are designed to help reduce queuing time, while boosting the experience of supporters by providing more opportunities to see, touch and try on merchandise ahead of the game.
Following the success of its three existing pop up shops, the club decided to upgrade to larger units, as well as expanding its portfolio with the addition of a fourth shop.
The Emirates, which is cited as one of the top stadia developments in the UK and Europe, has a capacity of over 60,000. Arsenal moved to the ground just over a decade ago, leaving its old Highbury site in search of a larger, state-of-the-art home ground that would provide a great fan experience at all levels, while securing high match day earnings.
The stadium employs nearly 3,000 people on match days alone, as well as hundreds of staff who work year-round. It boasts three static club stores, as well as expansive conference, hospitality and community facilities.
Rapid Retail, which supplies mobile kiosks and portable units to sporting grounds across the UK and Europe, has worked with Arsenal for over three years.
Nick Daffern, MD of Rapid Retail, said: “It’s fantastic to hear that the units we previously installed for Arsenal did so well that they have now upgraded them to generate even more retail space, as well as adding a fourth shop.”
He continued: “The use of portable merchandising units and kiosks is a tried and tested model that many football clubs are now following. Whether you’re in the Premier League, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, La Liga, Serie A, or are a club in the lower leagues who wants to maximise matchday revenue, our units offer a cost-effective solution.
“They can help enhance the experience for fans, reduce queuing times and fulfil a whole host of functions, helping you make the most of the space you have available.”
