Newbury Racecourse in Berkshire is an iconic venue that combines a 100-year heritage with a modern sporting experience. Around 29 racing fixtures are held annually, enjoyed by crowds of up to 20,000 people.

In recent years, the racecourse has undergone a multi million pound redevelopment, seeing it become a vibrant leisure and events venue.


Rapid Retail has a long-standing relationship with Newbury Racecourse, having been brought on board to help the racecourse streamline and enhance the experience of visitors.

Queuing was a major area of concern, so the team worked with Newbury to devise a solution using their highly flexible mobile kiosks.


Rapid Retail has designed, built and supplied a total of six fully branded kiosks – both single and double width – which are being used to fulfil a range of different purposes. Each offers a secure, yet customer-friendly environment from which a racecourse seller can operate.

The kiosks have been placed at key points around the racecourse and are being used to sell race cards, binoculars and to support people who wish to transfer into the premier enclosure. They are highly visible, meaning they can be easily located by race-goers and are easy to move, so they can be relocated strategically, depending on what is needed.


The kiosks not only look smart and professional, but are flexible and secure. They have helped to improve the overall experience for spectators, by minimising queuing time and improving ease of access, while at the same time helping the racecourse maximise its revenue.
