Life Amongst Retail Units – Frederic Shares His Experiences
As a student at the Institut d’Administration des Entreprises of Poitiers in France, I chose to do a French internship abroad to validate my Masters second degree in International Management. I had already been to a few English-speaking countries, so decided to do my internship in the United Kingdom.
Following numerous searches on the internet, I came across Rapid Retail, a UK-based company, specialists in retail kiosks and portable shops for the retail and sports industries.
The objective of the company was to develop the business in the French market. After an interview with the Managing Director, Nick Daffern, I decided to take the plunge, go on an adventure and join a small company with many impressive and established clients in England.
During my six -month internship, I have been able to experience many different aspects of business management first hand. I have set up prospecting tools in order to promote the company in France, using both the social media networks and the French website. Each have been an important part of my daily job and I am delighted to have witnessed the realisation of new clients as a result.
The experience has allowed me to establish my skills in the world of business. It has sometimes been hard to accomplish the projects but, when they succeed, I have always been happy to have devoted so much time and energy to the tasks.
The modular kiosks section is now being further developed in France. We have increased our presence in Europe and have recently supplied units to PSG, Girondins Bordeaux, Olympique de Marseille, AS Monaco, ESTAC Troyes and various rugby clubs, including National French Stadium and Stade La Rochelais.
I am really happy to have learnt so much in the space of six months, both in the field of business and marketing and in construction and logistics.
I would really like to thank Rapid Retail for having given me this chance and I wish them good luck in the future.
