Perfect Man has lived up to his name, after storming to victory in his first race under new ownership.

A syndicate, sponsored by race course pop up shop and kiosk supplier Rapid Retail, acquired the seven year old bay gelding in July. In his first outing for the group, he took part in the Class 4 hurdle race at Market Rasen. He won by seven lengths and expectations are now high for his second race on 6 September.

Commenting on the win, Nick Daffern, MD of Rapid Retail, said: “Rapid Retail has been deeply involved with the world of horse racing for many years now, and we’re lucky to work with some top courses, including Aintree and Newbury. It is a sport we are very passionate about and so taking our first steps into ownership, was an exciting prospect for us.

“We’re delighted to be involved with this syndicate, which includes one of our investors as well as other likeminded individuals, and Perfect Man has done us all proud”.

Perfect Man was acquired from Ireland and his progress is being overseen by up and coming trainer Olly Murphy. He will next be racing at 4.30pm at Sedgefield Racecourse, on Thursday 6 September.

Nick continued: “With the weather as it has been, it was difficult to run him on firm ground and we needed to wait for a little rain. We were delighted to see him go on to claim the victory and look forward to seeing him race again.”

Rapid Retail, based in Pershore, works with race courses, sports grounds, brands and retailers across the UK and Europe.
