Modular Retail Unit Accompanies Chelsea U21s to France

With their first team away on tour in America, Chelsea’s U21s development squad, the Young Blues, were making headlines of their own in South West France. Arriving fresh from their training camp in Austria, the young team made the front pages in regional newspapers, with Dordogne fans eagerly awaiting their arrival.

Rapid Retail was on hand with a modular retail unit, specially designed for the touring squad. Showcasing the latest shirts and official merchandise from the Barclays Premier League Champions, French fans were delighted to be given the opportunity to see the kit up close and were eager to make purchases on site.

A match against Bergerac-Perigord FC is scheduled for 1030am local time, with their senior counterparts getting ready for another Anglo-French head to head in Charlotte, North Carolina for the International Champions Cup match against Paris Saint-Germain later in the evening. The young team was invited to help celebrate the host club’s 100 year anniversary and promotion to the CFA division.

Chelsea’s Under-21s were greeted by an excited group of host staff, volunteers and supporters when they arrived in France on Friday and conducted an open training session ahead of their friendly against the local side the next day. After an hour-long session, the players posed for photographs with kids and supporters before conducting a community training session with a group of around 40 youngsters.


Rapid Retail‘s modular retail units are used throughout the sporting and retail world with clients including many Premier League and Championship football clubs, European football clubs, Premiership and Championship rugby clubs, Lord’s Cricket Ground, Thatchers Cider, Baskin Robbins, Ben & Jerry’s, Adidas, Nike and the Tour de France.

With matches for the Premier League starting on 8th August, Chelsea’s Under-21s side will begin their challenge for the U21 Premier League title a day later, on 9th August, against Liverpool.
