Three teenage boys unveil portable bike shop on popular mountain-bike location, Bredon Hill

King’s School Worcester boys, Archie Connor, James Graham and Dylan Moss, aged 14, have recently opened Bredon Hill Bikes, a specialist portable bike shop, in Beckford, located on the south east corner of Bredon Hill.

The teenage boys, who have a passion for trail riding, downhill biking and jumps, have been provided with a shop unit by Rapid Retail, suppliers of high quality portable retail units, and have hired Cytech qualified staff to provide the technical expertise.

The boys explained: “Bredon Hill is a great place, especially for mountain biking, which is something we all love. But finding the right bike for our needs has not been easy. Not only do we have obvious budget constraints, conflicting advice is another thing we have struggled with in the past. Our aim is therefore to provide customers with honest and clear information and an open and sincere assessment of products on the market.”

Approaching the business from a young person’s perspective, without the complications of business and commercial pressures, makes this venture unique.

The boys continued: “As well as providing our customers with guidance on which bike is best for their needs, our professional workshop also offers a reconditioning, repair and maintenance service for existing bikes, including family, road and mountain bikes, together with the option to trade in, exchange or sell bikes which are no longer needed. We will also provide a delivery and collection service and are currently in discussion with some very exciting top brands, in the hope of becoming a dealership for them. We therefore hope to provide an honest all-in bike service and information centre.”

During the school holidays and at weekends, the boys will all spend some time in the shop, expanding their technical knowledge and experiencing business life on the front line.
